On Monday 30th April 2018; Ellisar, Pascale, Chloe and Rebekah formed a group for the project based learning assessment. As a group, we had a discussion on what real life problem we are going to focus our project based learning on and developed a brainstorm of ideas. Ideas in the brainstorm included: the effects of global warming on Earth, how litter creates pollution, creating a farm, designing a safety product to reduce child drowning and designing a playground equipment that is suitable for children with disabilities. These ideas were formulated by exploring the unit outline to gain insight on the content students need to cover and the outcomes students need to achieve by the end of the project. Today’s group meeting evidently focused on the identifying and defining stage of the design and production skills. As a group, we decided to distribute today’s work equally; Rebekah and Chloe researched the different types of technologies and their essential contributions (for example, 3D printer), while Ellisar and Pascale looked through the rubric and pulled it apart. By the end of this group meeting, we were able to agree on which stage and strand, stage 2 Physical World strand.
