Disability is often a term we hear everyday. But what is disability? Disability restricts and limits individuals from everyday activities. According to House With No Steps (2015), “people with a profound disability are 9 times less likely to participate in activities outside the home” (House with No Steps, 2015).
Consider.. Three new students have recently joined your class. You notice every recess and lunch that these students do not interact with other students or play and instead sit aside on their own. These students are in a wheelchair, which limits their participation on the playground. As members of the school community, your task is to create a playground equipment suitable for students with disabilities of your choice, so that we can help make playground equipments accessible to disabled people, creating an inclusive playground. You will work in groups of 3-4. |
